Name of Android 4.1 Leaked

The Google Play Store got a wee bit excited that it accidentally revealed the name of the upcoming version of Android. In the service’s page for Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ smartphone, a description reads that it would soon be receiving Android 4.1, nicknamed “Jelly Bean.” The listing has since been removed, but you know how quick it is to do a screen shot.

What could be in Android Jelly Bean? No one knows for sure, but it is safe to speculate that it would include speeds in performance, bug fixes, and new versions of some of Google’s software such as Google Maps. The updated Android would arrive at Google and Samsung’s latest Nexus phone, which comes as a no surprise since Nexus devices are usually the first to receive such updates.

People who saw the leaked nick name swear this is true. Apart that it appeared within Google’s own store, the copy did not appear to be a typo.

It remains unclear when will Google unveil Android 4.1, but the company’s I/O developers conference is the safest bet. That even begins June 27th.
