The Bluetooth Shower Speaker

Wireless Bluetooth connectivity has made many things more convenient for people. It made some features of devices available in places where they were not available before. But the shower is probably the only place where this might not always be available as an option. The Bluetooth Shower Speaker begs to differ in this case.

The Bluetooth Shower Speaker is a waterproof wireless device that makes it possible for people to finally stream their music safely from their portable Bluetooth devices into the shower. The speaker connects to most Bluetooth enabled devices and can be set up even in wet areas using an integrated stand or attached to a wall through a removable adhesive strip and mount. The Bluetooth Shower Speaker is powered by three AA batteries that provides up to 15 hours

HTC Droid DNA Arrives In The US

Smartphones are ever getting more and more advanced by the day. Just when you think you have a smartphone that is updated by today’s standards, another one may be coming out in two to six months’ time that may be a step above what you have. But that is the crazy path that smartphone innovation follows these days. The next smartphones just have to trump the ones before it. In the case of the HTC Droid DNA, it is the 1080p screen.

The HTC Droid DNA was recently unveiled by Verizon in a joint launch event with the smartphone maker. This smartphone is the stateside counterpart for the Japan-only HTC J Butterfly. This smartphone comes with a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It also comes with an 8MP rear camera capable of 1080p video. The HTC Droid DNA runs on Android Jelly Bean boosted by HTC Sense. The screen is a 5-inch super LCD3 capable of displaying HD1080p resolution. It also comes with 2020 mAh lithium ion batteries compatible with Qi wireless charging. The HTC Droid DNA is expected to be available exclusively at Verizon in November 21 for US$199.

Spotlight Rechargeable Vehicle LED Flashlight

Having some emergency flashlight inside the car is important. It may just become your lifesaver in case you find your car going out on you and leave you in the dark. With an emergency flashlight, you can either signal for help or find your way back home with a light source handy to lead the way. That is why having a device such as a Spotlight Rechargeable Vehicle LED Flashlight handy inside the car may be a god idea.

The Spotlight Rechargeable Vehicle LED Flashlight is specifically designed for cars since its Ni-Mh battery can be charged by inserting the device into the car’s 12V cigarette lighter. 5 hours worth of charging is good enough to fully charge the device that gives up to 180 minutes worth of light during emergencies. Its LED bulb provides up to 25 lumens of brightness. The Spotlight Rechargeable Vehicle LED Flashlight is also waterproof and small enough to place inside one’s pocket. It is available at Vat19 for US$22

JBL Unveils First iOS Speakers with Lightning Dock

It took a while, but the first Lightning-compatible accessories are finally here with JBL leading the way. The audio equipment company has announced a pair of speaker docks that only work with Apple devices that have the latest Lightning connector such as the iPhone 5, the new iPad, and new iPods.

The JBL Venue LT (pictured, $200) looks like the JBL Venue speaker dock, except that it has the a Lightning dock instead of the 30-pin connector we were used to. The Lightning connector is placed on a retractable tray, accommodating the latest Apple gadgets of any size. Don’t have the iPhone 5? Simply push the tray back and stream audio through Bluetooth.

Meanwhile, the JBL Micro ($100) looks smaller and ideal for your office desk. It comes with a built-in battery and USB port so you can charge other devices on it. However, this dock does not have the wireless connectivity of the Venue LT and would not fit an iPad.

Both models are now available on JBL.com and authorized retailers.

Samsung Not Intent to Settle with Apple Over Patent Row

While HTC and Apple have ended their legal battles with a settlement, Samsung has “no intention” to do the same with the iPhone maker. Samsung Electronics Head of Mobile J.K. Shin said so to reporters when asked if his company might pursue a settlement similar to the 10-year cross-licensing agreement between Apple and HTC.

Apple and Samsung tried to settle their patent infringement issues, which spans 10 countries and multiple lawsuits, but with little progress. In 2010, the Cupertino-based company reportedly offered its South Korean rival a licensing deal for iPhone- and iPad-related patents at around $30 to $40 per device. Samsung rejected the deal.

Top executives of both companies have also met multiple times, twice this past year, as they try to find an arrangement that would satisfy both parties. Court orders were even issued to try to force a resolution, but both Apple and Samsung remain in each other’s throats.

Samsung Galaxy Axiom Leaked

Evleaks, which has been closed-to-accurate about leaking photos of soon-to-be-announced gadgets, has tweeted what appears to be a variation of the Samsung Galaxy Mini.

This 4-inch handset will officially be called the Galaxy Axiom (model SCH-R830) and may end up on US Cellular. The device will be packed with a WVGA display, a dual-core 1.2GHz MSM8960 CPU, Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and LTE connectivity.

While photo leaks such as these may turn out to be untrue, but Evleaks has been spot on lately, such as the Nokia Lumia wireless charging pad.

Wireless Mini Bluetooth Keyboard With Touchpad

Many device manufacturers out there are going for portability as their route towards success. That is why they strive to make the smallest possible device of any kind that many people may still find useful. But some can go as far as they can to achieve that certain distinction of having the smallest of any device available. Such is the case for this Wireless Mini Bluetooth Keyboard with Touchpad.

This unique Mini Bluetooth Keyboard is a palm-sized miniature but workable keyboard that connects wirelessly to compatible portable devices such as smartphones and tablets via Bluetooth. It features a full QWERTY keyboard that also comes with its own optical touchpad for more convenient navigation. It is quite handy to bring along for use with the smartphone or a tablet. The Wireless Mini Bluetooth Keyboard with Touchpad is available at the Donya site for 3,000 Japanese Yen or around US$38.

Withings WS-30 Wireless Scale

Even weighing scales nowadays get a dose of new technology built into them. They are no longer just the typical bathroom scales that take your weight and that are that. There are now these new devices that even keep track of your weight over the Internet like the new Withings WS-30 Wireless Scale.

The new Withings WS-30 Wireless Scale is not your average bathroom scale. For one, it is an Internet-connected bathroom scale that features both Bluetooth Smart technology and WiFi connectivity. You get on the WS-30 Wireless Scale and it takes your weight and body mass index or BMI and displayed on the large backlit screen. It even comes with a Withings Position Control technology that helps people properly position their body for that most accurate weighing.

But since the new Withings WS-30 Wireless Scale is not like any other scale, it also offers added functions for the user. Every time a weight is taken, the scale also sends the data to the user’s Withings Health Companion App for the smartphone and on the Withings webpage under the user’s personal page. The user also has the option to share the weight data to their doctor or to other compatible Withings apps aimed to help people live a healthier lifestyle through effective weight loss.  The new Withings WS-30 Wireless Scale is now available at Withings for US$130.

In Germany, the top of the range model will carry a suggested retail price of 649 Euros (£518) while the mainstream model will cost 499 Euros (£398). Nokia offering free trials of Lumia 800, Lumia 900 & Pureview 808 Read more: http://www.itproportal.com/2012/09/24/nokia-offering-free-trials-of-lumia-800-lumia-900--pureview-808/#ixzz2865fvjQT

Earlier this year, Nokia launched a scheme whereby anyone can try out one of their latest phones for two weeks free of charge. Since then, it has added a few other devices to the no strings attached scheme, namely the Nokia Lumia 900 and the Pureview 808.

Nokia will cover delivery costs and customs charges where applicable, and trialists are encouraged to provide feedback to the company. Other devices included in the trial are the Lumia 710, the Lumia 610 and the Nokia Purity 360 HD headset.

Of course, the company chooses who will be getting the free playtime with its phones, and individuals are required to pitch to Nokia about why they should be selected to participate in the scheme. You can increase your chance of being selected by highlighting your online presence (Twitter, YouTube, blogging etc.), and sharing reasons why you are contemplating a switch to Nokia soon.

It will be interesting to see if and when Nokia's two newest handsets, the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920, are added to the project. Both were launched at the beginning of September at a special event in New York, and we had a bit of hands-on time with the new-gen handsets over in the Big Apple.
Nokia has already started to clear out existing Windows Phone handsets ahead of the launch of its latest devices. The Lumia 710, for example, is billed on the Finnish firm's website as available from £99.95 on PAYG deals, or £229.95 SIM-free.

Nokia Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8 Smartphone goes on pre-order for £470

The first retailer in the UK to put a Nokia Windows Phone 8 smartphone on pre-order is Digital-phone which has listed the Nokia Lumia 920 black for £470 (unbranded, unlocked and with free delivery) with stock expected on 16 October.
The phone, which was launched in New York a few weeks ago, is set to replace the Lumia 900 as Nokia’s flagship handset. Interestingly enough, Microsoft hasn’t yet announced when Windows Phone 8 (the operating system) will be officially launched, although we suspect that this will happen close to or soon after the 26 October arrival of Windows 8.

Canon Makes Pro Photographers Drool With EOS 5D Mark III DSLR Camera

The new camera called the EOS 5D Mark III has a brand-new image sensor makes it the highest-resolution DSLR that Canon’s ever made.

The full-frame CMOS sensor lets the 5D Mark III capture photos up to 22.3 megapixels about 4 megapixels more than Canon’s top-of-the-line EOS-1D X (the 1D X has other features, like dual image processors, that let it retain its flagship status). Resolution isn’t everything, of course, and Canon says the new sensor has higher sensitivity and better noise reduction than its previous sensors, which means it should perform superbly in low light.

Solar Charger for iPhone

Planning to be outdoors and far away from power outlets for a while? A travel-sized solar charging dock might be just what you need. The Solar Power Dock from Netherlands-based manufacturer A-solar and solar tech company Intivation was unveiled earlier this week at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona. It charges iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad with a little help from the sun and is small enough to fit in your pocket.
With a durable built-in battery, a small solar panel and strong rubber-finished casing, the Solar Power Dock can keep devices running when you’re far away from an outlet. The price: $105.

Altec Lansing Live 5000 WiFi music system

During CES, Altec Lansing showed us its latest premium wireless speaker system, the $500 WiFi-equipped Live 5000. If you're thinking "wait, isn't that attractive-looking, teardrop-shaped gizmo just its inAir 500 AirPlay speaker?" you'd be sort-of correct. While the system is nearly identical to the inAir, the unit itself isn't tied to iThings for wireless audio streaming -- instead, Altec's created its own "ecosystem" that'll support a variety of devices.

Sony Tablet

Sony's second Android tablet intrigued us. We're always willing to give another form factor a try and in the Tablet P (£500), we certainly had that. While the Tablet S's wedge profile stood it out a little from the rest of the prone slabs, the P piqued our interest with an unusual clamshell form factor. Once the two 5.5-inch screens are folded together, the tablet has a pretty tiny footprint and just about fits into a jacket pocket. It's the third PlayStation-certified device, arriving proudly emblazoned with the four symbol trademark, and a second screen capable of doubling-up as both a controller for games or as a laptop-style keyboard. However, those twin screens require some not-so cosmetic adjustments to the Honeycomb experience we're used to and this is where we're most interested in seeing how Sony fared. Is the unique design implemented well enough? How does it fare as a games machine? Can a clamshell pull potential tablet buyers away from the iPad and a legion of sameish Android tablets? Crack open our review to find the answer to those questions and much more.

Nikon D4 DSLR

More than two years after the D3S began shipping and roughly a half-decade after we first got a peek at the D3, Nikon has finally announced the full-frame DSLR's long-awaited successor. As expected, the Nikon D4 boosts both megapixel rating (to 16.2) and extended ISO (204,800 at Hi-4), and includes a brand new full-frame FX-format sensor. Video capture also jumped from 720/24p to 1080/30p, but so did the camera's somewhat-out-of-reach price tag -- you'll be dropping $5,999.95 when the D4 hits stores in late February. You're clearly not spending all that hard-earned photo dough for nothing, though. There's also a 91k-pixel RGB 3D Color Matrix

Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone 7 review

The Nokia Lumia 800 is the Finnish phone company's first handset to run Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system, where in the past Nokia has always used the Symbian platform. Symbian has always been associated with Nokia and used to run their mobile phones, from flagship to entry-level devices and was eventually acquired by Nokia in 2008.

Motorola RAZR review

The Motorola RAZR is back, but not as we know it. The, er, razor thin clamshell was the ultimate fashion accessory six or seven years ago, but that was when a phone could be that and nothing more. The RAZR brand has returned enlightened, but has it really wised up during its years abroad? Let’s find out.
